I am being held captive by my own story!

lol

Honestly, I can't stop writing ABSFT!! Here's what happened: was listening to my Oldies playlist, and on comes Elvis' "Fools Rush In", and *poof! The b-day chapters have become amazing! I love them, I love them waaay more than the fanfic! Of course the process of writing them was just as interesting as the work itself. First of all, it gets about 55 degrees at night here now. And I wrote them at night. OUTSIDE.
Yeah, I know, stupid right? But you have to understand that there's an outdoor food court down the street from me with a fountain right out of ABSFT. It's lit up like you'd expect in an Italian courtyard, and surrounded by the same white roses that I always pictured growing behind the bus stop in my story. I am MEANT to write there! And it wasn't too bad actually. Being from the East coast originally, I still retain at least some of my ability to handle cold weather. It's honestly been a blast these past few days (been off work all week!).
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to multitask my stories like earlier this month. So the ATLA fanfic is on the back burner right now, and it may be mid to late December before I begin posting. "5ive" is also a bit sluggish, but I've written a few post-its to myself about it (I think at least 10% of this story and plotline so far has been written entirely on post-its, all of which I plan on keeping for sentimental reasons. I wish I'd kept some the receipts I used to jot down ideas for ABSFT when I was still working retail).
But I'm so happy with how this is going. ABSFT is my priority book as it is actually complete in fanfic form, and most of the characters are 80% developed. This is my baby, and damn is she kicking!

Anywho, onto more popular subjects:

NINJA F@&%KING ASSASSIN!!
I totally LOVED this movie! I went to the midnight showing all by my lonesome (I live behind a movie theater), of course the only lone girl there, but I have been waiting for this to come out for sooo long! I personally was not disappointed. I actually appreciated the video game-esque color of the blood, I really liked the story (not totally cliche as I'd expected), and the gore wasn't so bad that I looked away (I barely sat through "Sweeny Todd" without throwing up). All in all, I'll probably end up seeing this again in the theaters when Jared gets back from boy's weekend in Vegas. I'm just as psyched to see it the second time!

On to "New Moon". My mother has never read the Twilight series. She won't even openly acknowledge that the first movie was anything more than "pretty good"-she is in fact a habitual "understater". She also has not been to a movie theater in 8 YEARS!!
But she made the leap, and we went to go see it today.
I was really impressed with how true this movie stayed to the book. There was a good pace to the whole movie, and they really portrayed Bella's depression after Edward leaves, and the eventual relationship with Jacob that just reeked of sexual tension-and we know how much I LOVE sexual-tension in a story!
But most of all, I was really taken with Taylor Lautner's Jacob Black. No, not the muscles, they were just scenery-but the *acting* was unexpected. You could tell he was lost in the character, and knowing how hard this kid worked just to keep his part in the franchise, it was well-deserved. I enjoyed Kristin Stewart a lot more this time around-she came off as a little fluttery last time around, but she was way more realistic (and authentic) as Bella this time. Was Dakota Fanning not awesome, too?
All in all, it was a great movie. I haven't been this excited about the series since I read the books, and I'm stoked that the third one will be out in June. Say what you will about the sparkly vampires-this is a GOOD story.

Whew!Enough fangirl ranting. Go see Ninja Assassin, go see "New Moon" if you're into it, and keep tuned in to find out when the ATLA fanfic will be posted.

Ja Ne!
